Bedazzle Colleagues With Easter Baskets
By Romeo Gardner
Anyone who works at a normal, 9 to 5 job is likely to understand the true meaning of the doldrums. Spicing up an ordinary day at the grind is always a welcomed change of pace. One way many managers and even rank and file staff members do this is by giving out small gifts to co-workers or employees during the holidays.
But, really, why stop at just the Christmas season?
Easter is the perfect holiday for spicing up life in any office setting. With a few fun steps, a boring day can quickly transform into a holiday extravaganza.
When it comes to holidays that can help bring out the kid in almost anyone, Easter does tend to rank rather high. To put a little excitement into the office setting, there are some great ideas to put into play. Some of the best include:
* Easter egg hunt. Some companies go all out in hosting fun Easter egg hunts. Using plastic eggs that allow for personalized filling, managers treat their employees to a quick and very enjoyable diversion. Fill the eggs with coupons for special prices such as dinners out, lunches or even a chance to win a extra special gourmet Easter gift basket. This is an extraordinary way to get everyone up, away from their desks for a few minutes and having fun.
* Individual Easter baskets. Another real hit in the office involves treating everyone to a small, but distinctly unique Easter gift basket. Arrive early and place baskets on employees' desks for a day they won't soon forget. Baskets do not have to be elaborate to show employees their efforts are appreciated and so are they. This is also a great way for a staff member to show co-workers how important they are. Baskets can include such things as plush Easter bunnies or chicks, gourmet chocolates and other upscale delicacies.
* Easter pot luck. In some office settings, the diversion of choice is food. To get everyone in on the act, set up an Easter pot luck. Have the managers bring in the main courses and everyone else can pitch in with the sides. This is also an excellent way to create a little camaraderie. To really make the occasion even more enjoyable, give away a prize in a random drawing that involves everyone who contributed to the meal. A dinner gift certificate, Easter gift basket or even a free day off are all always big hits.
Easter does present the perfect platform for turning a boring day in the office into one that will help build camaraderie even boost team work. Have a little fun and use some imagination to come up with the perfect ideas for your office.
