Confirmation Gifts

My niece, frighteningly, just turned 16 in October. I've had to accept many things with this age. For instance, she's allowed behind the wheel legally, she was recently inducted into the National Honor Society, and now she will prepare to make her Confirmation. Like everyone in my family, she underwent 11 years of religious education, and now it is time for the grand finale. I'm so proud of her in so many ways it makes me want to cry (who am I kidding, I'm crying right now)! If you, too, have someone near and dear to you preparing to make his/her confirmation, you might need a few suggestions on what type of gift to give. Here is a list of top five Confirmation gifts...

1. First and foremost, a perfect gift for someone completing Confirmation is jewelry. Whether it be a simple cross pendant, a religious charm, or a patron saint medal, a necklace works for either a boy or a girl and is a very precious gift that they will always cherish.
2. Along the lines of jewelry, another great gift is a rosary. It is a very classic gift that will be kept close to their heart for their entire life.
3. The Bible. It may seem too obvious, but oftentimes the person getting confirmed doesn't have their own Bible. Usually, the family owns a Bible but it's nice to have one of your own that you can take with you when you leave for college. As an added bonus you could also purchase an engraved bookmark to put between the pages.
4. Albums or picture frames are always a great gift, for practically any occasion. In this instance, a nice touch would be to have a passage of scripture engraved on the frame, to remind this special person to always keep the faith.
5. If you are stretched for time, a meaningful card with money will always do the trick! I've never known anyone to be disappointed about receiving money as a gift!
