Personalized Gifts - Always in Style, Always Appreciated
By Mark J Beevers
No matter the occasion, personalized gifts are always appropriate. It also becomes quite obvious to the recipient that you carefully thought about their personal preferences, hobbies, or likes. One of the best ways to personalize a gift is by adding a special photo.
What Kind of Photo Should You Use?
When selecting a photo for your item, think about the personality of the recipient for a moment. Is he a sports enthusiast? Try using a photo of a favourite athlete, local stadium, or one of the person himself playing in a game. An animal lover? A photo of the person's favourite pet, a butterfly on a flower, or even a squirrel running up a tree would be appropriate. Enjoys a close relationship with family? Elicit family members to come up with photos you can use to create a montage or individual photos showing age progression over the years (of the gift recipient by himself or as a group of cousins, for instance).
You might also want to consider photos from a shared vacation or other event which brings forth fond memories. For instance, a seascape photo from your weekend at the beach together would look beautiful printed on a canvas which can be hung on the wall. This is a particularly great idea for a romantic partner. Photos from your wedding, or romantic rendezvous, or even your first date are a great way to remind your partner of the special times you've shared.
What Kind of Gift Should I Select?
Once again, it is important to think about your recipient's likes and dislikes, pastimes and hobbies, and personal preferences such as favourite color, animal, automobile, vacation spot, etc.
For the sports enthusiast, a photo cushion to use while sitting stands or to take with him/her while traveling for games and tournaments is a thoughtful gift. A hot water bottle cover is ideal to help relax those pesky muscle strains and aches. The animal lover would most assuredly appreciate a mouse pad or photo pet mat. For someone who is quite close with family, creating a photo canvas of the entire clan or a set of coasters with each member's photo would be appropriate.
When selecting personalized gifts for your significant other, you may want to think even bigger. Again, a photo canvas is always a good choice but how about a photo roller blind? It could be hung at either home or office. A pair of coffee mugs with a picture of both of you is a great way to enjoy a cup of coffee together at the start of a day.
No matter your choice of photo or item, personalized gifts are always appreciated by the recipient. You get the satisfaction of giving them something they'll use as well as indicating how much you care. You just can't go wrong when giving someone else a personalized gift.
